The Rock Wildlife Foundation & Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2022 with a mission to protect, rescue, rehabilitate, and improve the lives of animals while supporting wildlife conservation and the communities that depend on them.
Our work spans Namibia, Zambia, Nevada, and Ohio, connecting hands-on animal care in the United States with conservation, agriculture, education, and wildlife protection initiatives in Africa.
We believe every animal deserves compassionate, knowledgeable, and appropriate care—whether it is a companion animal, farm animal, rescued wildlife, or a species living in its natural habitat.
Our Work
In Africa, our programs support wildlife conservation, anti-poaching efforts, agriculture, education, and community initiatives. We work to promote coexistence between people and wildlife while contributing to the long-term protection of animals, habitats, and natural resources.
In the United States, our work focuses on animal rescue, rehabilitation, veterinary care, sanctuary, and lifelong placement. Animals requiring medical treatment or specialized care are given the support they need to recover, with the goal of rehabilitation and release whenever appropriate. For animals that cannot safely return to the wild, we provide or help establish permanent, appropriate homes.
Our organization is also committed to veterinary medicine and animal health. Through our veterinary experience and partnerships, we promote responsible animal care, preventative medicine, appropriate nutrition, rehabilitation, and education for animal owners and caregivers.
Education, Advocacy & Conservation
Protecting animals requires more than treating individual cases. It requires education, advocacy, responsible stewardship, and addressing the challenges that affect animals and their habitats.
We strive to educate the public about wildlife, animal welfare, veterinary medicine, conservation, nutrition, husbandry, and responsible animal ownership. We also use our platform to advocate for animals and highlight conservation efforts, emerging issues, and stories from the field.
Our Store Supports Our Mission
Our online store helps support the work of The Rock Wildlife Foundation & Sanctuary.
Proceeds from purchases are used to support our nonprofit programs and the care, treatment, rehabilitation, and conservation of animals. Every purchase helps contribute to the larger mission of protecting animals and supporting the work required to care for them.
Founded by Lauren Rock
The Rock Wildlife Foundation & Sanctuary was founded by Lauren Rock, a Registered Veterinary Technician with extensive experience in emergency and critical care medicine, animal health, rescue, and wildlife conservation.
Lauren's professional experience has helped shape an organization built around a simple principle: animals deserve knowledgeable care, compassion, dignity, and an advocate in their corner.
The Rock Wildlife Foundation & Sanctuary brings together veterinary medicine, animal welfare, rescue, rehabilitation, conservation, education, and community involvement to create meaningful, lasting change.
We are committed to doing more than simply responding to animals in need. We want to help build a future where fewer animals need rescuing in the first place.
Our Mission
Rescue. Rehabilitate. Protect. Educate. Conserve.
From a rescued animal receiving emergency medical care in the United States to wildlife being protected across the African landscape, every part of our work is connected by the same goal:
To improve the lives of animals and help protect the wild places they call home.
